Well I am glad you got to see what I was doing last week with the ruins of San Ignacio. Really I think they make it look a lot cooler than it really is, but it was still fun to go. There was a lot of green and whatnot and it was a nice cool day to relax and enjoy. I wanted to send pictures of the event, but I forgot to bring my cable. Maybe next week I can. This week for p day we found out from an hermano about an institute building here in posadas. He said we could come and enjoy what they had to offer there this p day. First we went as a district to the river in the morning to relax and study a bit. It was pretty cool. It is a huge river. You can see Paraguay across the way. After studies and relaxation we went and changad and went into centro to check out the institute building. It was amazing! We played pool, ping pong and metagol (fusball). There was air conditioning and we ate lunch and watched a BYU devotional. It was pretty awesome. The institute was at the top of a skyscraper too. We got a good look at the city and the bridge that crosses into paraguay. We might have to do this one again someday.
It sounds like Josh is doing pretty good and getting adjusted quite well. I know his ¨chill pdays¨ quite well. It is good to do from time to time.
Grandma Payton is doing better then eh? That is good to hear. Grandma McDonald too I hope. I am really glad she had the thought to fast and pray to stop smoking. I know it is completely possible to stop with the help of the Lord. She is in my prayers as well.
That seriously happened to the Woods? Better tell them to be careful. But I am definately glad that they are all okay.
I am getting really excited for conference this weekend, but I am not sure that I will be able to watch in english this time. We will see. Although I think that I could understand perfectly well in Spanish, I really want to watch in enlish because it just won´t have the same feel if I don´t. It doen´t have the same meaning and power for me. For one thing the voices of the prophets are just really powerful and I just don´t think that a translator will cut it for me. And yes dad I did watch the priesthood session the last time. We got home close to midnight though. It will probably be the same this time too because the chapel is about a half an hour away by collectivo from the pension.
As for doing something special for my birthday, I don´t know that we will have the chance. We almost have a baptism set for that day. Just one week after on the 20th for Ignacio and Teresa. Close enough if you ask me. And with transfers coming up it looks like I may have the privilage of baptizing them. Teresa mentioned something like that. As far as quiting smoking for grandma goes, maybe you could pick up a preach my gospel and look for ideas to help her. It talks about it in there in chapter 10. Read it, ponder it, pray about it. I am confident you will recieve some help and ideas. I want to see her accomplish this goal that she has.
Well, what more can I say? The rigourous work continues and we continue to try and find those ready to here the gospel. It is not always so easy. I have been recieving a lot of help from the Elders in the district (especially the zone leaders) during divisions on how I can better myself. Sometimes it seems so overwhelming with all my weaknesses. I have already grown a ton though and I know this growth will continue as I place my faith and trust in the Lord. And hey, we will see what transfers bring. I expect a big change for myself.
Love you all!
Elder Aaron McDonald
