You've Got Mail! An email! - July 2nd

Dear Family,

So it turns out that the Nuñez family was actually passing through an economic problem. They didn’t have any food and the two youngest were a bit sick apparently (there are a lot of little kids running around so not exactly sure who, but not Gabriel, Nicolas and Horacio). I felt bad about it. The members pulled together to help them out and we called it to attention. The hno. is passing through a hard time with his health still and needs to get a few things taken care of, still the three boys were able to be confirmed on Sunday. We passed by in remise to get them there. They were all ready to go and were waiting for a member to pick them up, but I don’t know if he ever showed. It went well though. The problems the family is passing through are getting solved and they are still trying to do all they can to get to church. Love that family!

I am glad that you all received my pictures because that was expensive to send. Ten pesos! Worth it though. I actually bought a memory stick thing to keep all my fotos on now as well. 4 GB. I am in the process of copying all my pictures over to free up my memory cards. I am full just about. But don’t worry I will have the ability to take lots of pictures now. And videos too. I have used all the money you put in my account on various things so if you could some more in my account that would be great for when I need it. I think I am good for awhile, but you never know. Oh yeah, I also bought really cool scripture cases made of leather, kind of like what Ryan has I think. So I will get those in a few months.

The weather in the past few days has been really nice and I have washed all my clothes to take advantage of that. There was a party the other night though, but someone came and yelled at them because they had to work at 6;30. They did establish rules in the departments we live in and gave papers to everyone. One of the rules is that you can’t play loud music. So that was good.

The other day, Sunday actually, we saw a lot of drunks around. It has been awhile since I have had direct encounters with drunk people. Actually I suppose I am just use to seeing them now, but when we got to our apartment I opened the door and this guy called out to me and ran to the door. My companion was getting his clothes from off the line and wasn’t right by me so I was somewhat alone. He asked to use our bathroom and I told him no. He pulled out some coins and was willing to pay even (it seemed like an emergency). I wasn’t very willing still, luckily my companion came at that time and he remembered that there was a public bathroom out in the quincho (picnic area). The man was very grateful. That was an interesting experience.

Jonathan I see is having way too much fun like usual. Tell that kid to get a job or something! Well I suppose it is good for him though.

To answer a few important questions-

"Have you learned when Shakespeare's homecoming would be?"

No, they left too fast at the zone conference. Busy, busy, busy up until the very end. Sorry but it looks like you will have to find them yourself. It shouldn’t be hard to find a phone number though.

"Have you met your new president yet?"

No, President del Castillo and his wife brought 2 daughters with them and are not going to be able to travel around as much as the Shakespears. The first responsibility that they have is to the family and then the mission. We won’t see them until the end of the transfer.

"Are there any changes?"

Not yet.

"Are you still really busy and will you go to the falls again?"

We will be pretty busy, but we are going to the falls next week. It is still fun and amazing every time, but I don’t know that I will be taking many more pictures. We will see.

July 4th will be a normal day for me. Argentina has a flag day or something the 9th. WE are going to be at the cataratas.
Mom, dad told me about your teaching skills and it just goes to show that you don’t give yourself enough credit. I know that I always learn a lot even by what you send me in emails. You are good!

So I think that I have mentioned the Morel family in some of my emails. When I got here they weren’t active, but we had a great lesson and they have been coming. The dad, who is not a member and really the step-dad of all the kids, has been coming to church and has been having some really positive feelings about it all. We passed by yesterday and talked with his wife and it seems that he wants to be baptized. We are also working with Franco, the son of the hno. Morel, and we had a great lesson with the two of them and the hna. Morel this past Monday. The Spirit was really strong as we explained the Plan of Happiness. Everyone felt it. Franco and the hno. both said they would be baptized when they know it is all true. Franco said he had already asked for an answer in prayer, but that he hadn’t received anything yet. I think they already know for the good feelings that they have had, but I read in Galatians about the fruits of the spirit to help them recognize. We are going to go and try to set a baptismal date with them.

I feel there are so many possibilities here in our area with baptisms and we are actually having quite a few baptisms in the branch with the efforts of Elder Melander and Elder Humphreys in the other half. I hope to see several more in the next weeks.

Well I hope that you all have a great week! A way great one!

Love,

Elder Aaron McDonald
