... - June 25th

Hey fam!

So the baptisms with Nicolas, Horacio, and Gabriel went well. We were traveling the days before and while we were in council I got sick and starting feeling really cold and achy and nauseated. I had to travel home all night long in that state which was difficult, but I managed to stay warm in the colectivo and sleep on and off along the way. I was all too grateful when we finally made it home. But walking into the pension was nasty anyways. It always stinks and is filthy no matter what I do. I just went to bed and slept for a few hours. When I woke up we got ready to leave and went and did a bit of shopping for the baptisms and I got some juice to drink. I got sick to the stomach during our short time out and had to use the bathroom right when I got back. I felt much better afterwards, but still crappy. So we took it easy all day making calls to get everything organized for the baptism. We went to the church as well and started the font so it would be good and warm for the kids. We got Diego, a member here, to perform the baptisms. I was for it and against it as the kids didn’t know him and it would be a great experience for Diego. In the end at least they will have more of a friend there in the church. Diego is the young men’s president and that is where Nicolas will be. So it all turned out well.

The actual baptism started about an hour late. Someone turned on the pump that started draining the water in the font and so we waited for that. Also we had a problem with the baptismal clothing that was suppose to be all prepared and ready. It all worked out in the end and we got the clothes that we needed. The hermanas from the branch did a good job on the pants that they made. Diego was a bit nervous I think doing the baptisms and he dunked the kids without putting the hand up to plug the nose. It went well still though and Nicolas and Gabriel were good in one go. Horacio had the hand above the water two times, but the third time went well. They are such great kids.

Sunday the Nuñez family didn’t make it to church. I was a bit worried about that one since they were supposed to be confirmed and receive the Holy Ghost, but we found out that the two little kids in the household got sick and had to be taken to the hospital. Also the family didn’t have food to eat in the morning. Poor kids. It stinks sometimes being only able to help spiritually, still they are strong in spirit and are happy which is the most important. Some of the nearby members reached out and gave them some food to eat. This Sunday they are all set to get to church to be confirmed.

Elder Peterson ended his mission and we saw him as well as hna. Funk (from the MTC district) during consejo in Resistencia. They were with their families. Monday and Tuesday Elder Peterson came to Eldorado to visit the area and we ran into them at the Morel family’s house. They took us in the car up to the church to drop off a few things and then back down to our next cita. They also set up to take us out to lunch on Tuesday at the casino (all you can eat). It was way fun to see Elder Peterson and his parents and talk with them as well. It made me a little trunky though for a few hours. All good now though.

We had a great lesson with the Candido family. We repeated the Restoration and I think it was really what they needed. They are ready to set a goal and work for it now. We are going to be setting a date with them to work for. It is almost like they want to say yes, but are too proud to just come out and say it after being doubtful. But they are just playing hard to get or something. I really think they will be baptized if they just come to church a few more times.

As I mentioned in my letter to Ryan, I am getting a bit tired of my area. I am trying not to, but like Andrew the same old houses are just getting a bit boring. I want to talk with new people and see something different. I guess I just need to be patient and make things keep happening here in this area. I do always get the letters from Andrew and Josh that you guys send so don’t worry.

I haven’t received a package yet unfortunately, but my comp did in consejo and has been sharing the goods with me. I just sent a letter with a CD that has a bunch of fotos to you all. Hope it makes it okay. Let me know.

Oh. We have been working with the Morel family for a long while. When I came the family was inactive and the hna. was about to have a baby. We helped them out though and everyone came to general conference even though the hna. was to have her baby one week afterwards. They have stayed active since. The father is not a member and neither is Franco and we are just starting to work with them because before when we passed by they were never around. We made it a special effort to try and find them and now they really want to do what is right. The dad is stubborn and just keeps trying to go against the family even though he knows what we teach is good. We found out that he is thinking about another church now, but he is going to pray about it. He really doesn’t that the branch president doesn’t do more youth activities is what we found out. Of course he doesn’t understand the whole situation either. Franco wants to come to church and the whole family is going to try and come this week.

The Shakespears go home this week I think, or Monday. There is a couple hours overlap is all. I will try to get the info you want on the Shakespears if I can remember. If not it should be in my call packet or something for you all to look it up.

Well I got to go now. Love you all!

Elder Aaron McDonald
