Well, it sounds like things are just the same as any other summer at home. Mom, I really meant to say happy birthday to you last week, but I was in a hurry typing up that letter. I wrote it in my journal and everything. Anyway, so here it is now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! Hope it was a good one. Oh, chocolate cakes and brownies! Yeah it must have been a good one. And glitter too! And I doubt that you need a diet with all the exercising that you do.
For your information, I got every single item that you put into that package. I think they are pretty careful with the packages. I am enjoying the yummy snacks. Real food! We recently made some mack and cheese with spaghetti noodles. Not quite the same, but it was really good. We didn’t have milk either so I used water.
I cant believe that you have already been captain for two years dad, it seems like that happened just yesterday. Of course, it seems like I just arrived in argentina yesterday too in some ways and here I am seven months into the mission.
I cant believe that Josh is leaving the MTC. I wonder how well he has learned the language in the MTC as he was in Guatamala and probably had plenty of opportunities to speak with fluent speakers. I am so excited for him! Speaking of friends and missions, how is Andrew? Has he decided to put in his papers yet?
Well dad, your mission experience sounds pretty similar to mine in many ways. We are never short of investigators in this area and are actually having a hard time visiting them all. However, it is like you say, it is hard to help people act on what they are learning. Still, we have success from time to time. This week in sacrament meeting we had two of our investigators in sacrament meeting. We just found them too. The father, Gelmo Gitzel, has some german backround (as you can probably tell from the name). He and his son Dario (16) came to church walking about an hour to get there. They really seemed to enjoy the meetings and I think they will continue to come. They have a large family that we need to start teaching too. We will see how it goes.
We have several other really good investigators. Juan Albarez is trying to quick smoking and we are trying to get him to come to church. Another investigator, Sergio, is working on getting married. His wife is already a member and many in their families too. We also need to get him to church. I guess he went before, but he has been working on Sundays.
Well, I don’t really have much else to say. Hope you all have a good week!
Love
Elder Aaron McDonald
