Transfers (already!?) — July 18, 2007

Well I am not really sure what your letters say because it doesn´t want to open right now. That is okay though I guess. I have got news anyway.

So as you probably all know already, this week is transfers. And it turns out that it is my turn to be leaving. I am leaving all that I know of Argentina, all the people I know and am going to Posadas, Misiones. So the next time I write I will be in a totally different place. Misiones is the one place in the mission that everyone wants to go because it is more tropical and green. It also has red dirt and hills so we will see how it is. Elder Biddle had my area before and he says it is an awesome area. They have a stake, but the area I work in is still a rama. It is possible I will be in a 4 man pension, but we don´t know for sure because they have split the area in two since Elder Biddle was there. As for my new companion, his name is Elder Perez and although he is a latino he can apparently speak a bit of English. Elder Biddle says that Elder Perez looks almost Asian and is mistaken for an Asian by the people sometimes. So I should learn a lot of Castellano hopefully this next transfer.

Posadas is a bigger city so we will see how it is–appartments, more concrete streets, etc. So yeah. That is about as much as I know right now. My companion also told me that there are ants the size of those multivitamin pills. They sound like monsters.

So that is my news I guess. I have been packing all morning and we went to see a few people. I leave at five and have to be at the terminal at 4:15 and there are still people i want to visit. It sounds like I will be traveling with Elders Sloat (our zone leader right now) and Elder Rojas (who I have done divisions with). It should be fun traveling at least, but it is a two hour trip to resistencia and then another five to seven hours to my area. I know, really fun.

Okay, finally got your letters to open. I am glad you all got my pictures so quickly. I tell you Friday the 13th is my lucky day. I found out more information about packages. We can have the four packages a year and it is kind of a priority thing. If you haven´t gotten a package before you are high priority so I have high hopes for that one.

So yeah, unfortunately we have had a lot of investigators stop investigating, including the family that I said looked familiar. The family that looked familiar said they don´t know if they have time to listen to us any more because they are getting increasingly busy, so they basically told us not right now more or less. Still we left a good note on their record and I am hopeful that one day missionaries will stop by again and teach them. All the time we are planting seeds. The thing is we work with a lot of good people, but it is hard to make changes, but maybe later on in their lives. It is so true that we don´t always see the fruits of our labors. I feel like I have met with a lot of rejection this transfer, but we have also talked with some very good people.

Mom as far as health goes, I am doing good. Although the first transfer took some time getting use to the food and stuff if you know what I mean. But don´t worry, we are well taken care of here.

Anyway, I think I will leave it at that for this week because I have a ton of stuff to do still before leaving.

Love you all,

Elder Aaron McDonald
