Sup? - June 11th

Querido familia,
I must say that your Disneyland experience just sounds funny to me. I can just imagine mom and Jonathan right now. Mom I am grateful that you were able to refrain from the whole gum thing. It would have been funny though! Little Joffns is growing up so fast. As for all the walking, I remember getting somewhat tired at amusement parks as well and it amazes me that I am able to walk all day long every day now. Sometimes I get home feeling so exhausted and we have to plan while I am already falling asleep. Still we manage every day in the steep mountains of Misiones. I have almost been in terrain like this for 1 year now and I am quite accustomed now. The rest of the mission is flat as can be, not a hill in sight.
I heard they had made a High School Musical 2. I thought that was a bit overkill. One time on the bus to consejo they played High School Musical 1 and it was of course in English and really loud and quite impossible to block out. I knew what was happening anyways. I am just grateful they haven’t played Spiderman or Pirates of the Caribbean on the buses I have been on. That would ruin my day completely. It is cool Jonathan gets to be in a movie though. And be paid to do nothing. Doing nothing sounds like hard work though.
Weather in the northern part of Argentina (Misiones mainly) is crazy. I have never seen such dramatic changes so quickly. We had some good heat and humidity the other week which made us sweat and our mattresses get nasty and damp. My pillow started growing mold (I washed it). That was a sad sad day. Now it got really cold and last night we went out with sweaters and jackets. Now it looks like it wants to rain, though the sun was out a couple of hours ago. They say all winter is like that here in Eldorado. With all the changes we haven’t been able to dry out our garments because we can’t put them outside. Yesterday I used the heater we have and dried all of mine and today we dried Elder Barindelli’s. Uses a bit of energy, but it is necessary.
The Nuñez family has a baptism set for the 21st. We are going to meet them in the church tonight to pass over some stuff and try to get them all prepared for the interview on Saturday. The date is for right after transfers so I am scared I might leave, but at the same time I am feeling ready for a change. Either way I will be content that they get baptized. Hno. Rodolfo Nuñez has really changed and is wanting to share his testimony with everyone. He is giving us referrals and whatnot. It is great to see the change in him. I know it will help his kids out a lot. They are already seeing many blessings.
Flia. Garcia didn’t make it to church and already seem to be losing steam. The family Candido is doing good though. We had a great lesson yesterday with them and they understand really well about the authority to baptize and are willing to keep praying for answers. We took a huge doubt out the hna had about baptisms for the dead. She had some crazy ideas there from a friend of hers. I think that will help a lot.
We are going to finish this week by asking a few questions.
1) What are you eating for breakfast, lunch, dinner? It seems you got sick on yogurt or something a while back, are you still avoiding it?
For breakfast a nice bowl of cereal (eaten with yogurt) with some hot chocolate or something. Occasionally a nice egg sandwhich. Usually I use the bathroom like clockwork every morning right after breakfast. I think it is the dairy here. But after that I am good to go.
Lunch is almost always noodles with a sauce of our choice. I also have been trying to eat greenery so I have made a lot of ham, cheese and lettuce sandwiches with wheat bread. Very good and very healthy.
Dinner is usually also a quick sandwich or something before bed. Or a little of whatever I have.
2) Where do you do your shopping groceries or otherwise?
Shopping is done about a block away from the apartment. Everything else is too far away. We have a kiosko that has pretty much everything right in the departments that we live in. During the week we pick up things there.
3) Do you think that you'll be able to understand the English conference CDs?
Yes. But I am really getting use to talking in Spanish with Elder Barindelli.
4) How do you do with the English in our letters? (If you think there are grammatical errors it's probably because your English has slipped.)
It is fine for me though I have a hard time spelling these days. Thank goodness for spell check!
5) Did you get a date set with the Candido family?
We tried but it didn’t go as planned. They don’t want to set a date for right now, but they are willing to start doing some things now to start finding answers.
6) How often are you getting letters in the mail?
Every couple weeks or so I get mail usually because that is what gets sent to me every week for the zone.
7) Are you playing the piano at all?
Yes but it is way boring without music. I am going to go crazy! I wish I would have taken time to learn some more theory. You can play anything when you understand the theory of piano. I am getting better at making my own little songs though.

Well thanks for writing me this week. Hope it is a good week for you all!
